PINEY FLATS, TN, Aug. 24, 2010 | Inc magazine today ranked Lyon Metal Roofing, a manufacturer and distributor of metal roofing, siding, and accessory products # 2727 overall on its fourth annual Inc. 5000 list, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Music website Pandora, convenience store chain 7-Eleven, Brooklyn Brewery, and Radio Flyer, maker of the iconic children’s red wagon, are among the prominent brands featured on this year’s list.
Methodology: The 2010 Inc. 500 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2006 to 2009. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by June 30, 2006. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2009. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2006 is $80,000; the minimum for 2009 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. The companies of the Inc. 500 represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/500
“We are excited to be recognized by Inc Magazine 5000 List and extremely grateful to all our employees and thousands of customers who helped make this possible”, said Bret Lyon, president of Lyon Metal Roofing. “We are fortunate that despite the slow economy metal roofing sales have remained strong due to the fact that consumers are growing more and more aware of the product’s benefits and are choosing to reroof their homes and businesses with metal instead of other traditional roofing materials. Metal roofing is a “Green Product”, and safe for our environment, it is a great choice when planning for a new roof.”
Lyon also stated that as a result of the 2010 Energy Star® metal roofing tax credit worth up to $1,500 per home that many residential homeowners are selecting metal roofing as a hands down solution to their roofing needs.
